Hey there, I'm Pete - a life long camper, photographer, and nature enthusiast, and I'm pleased to invite you into our overland adventure community focused on the 'seasoned' enthusiast (over 55, like me).
In our full lives, I hope you have had many wonderful memories of opportunities of exciting adventures in your past, but as we get on in years , some things are less appealing than they might have been in our 'younger' days - like sleeping on the ground, free climbing a sheer face, or whitewater kayaking.
Over the past seven years, I've found that Overlanding and off road exploration by vehicle is the one sport that gives me the freedom to be one with nature and go places others cant go - while feeling safe and self reliant on myself and my equipment.
Time have really changed - when I started on this path, most of the information available was for the DIY guy who wanted to customize his Jeep into the 'hard core' the rock crawler or mud runners
Today, overlanding and off-roading has gotten a-lot more sophisticated, and there are literally hundreds of vendors, selling thousands of products -all promising to be the right thing for you.
Its mind boggling - with all the resources available, how do you know which advice is best for you. OMO can help you sift through the noise, use our Media Guides and Trusted Resource Lists to help you to identify right advice and the best options for gear and equipment that will help make your overlanding experience the best it can be.
When I started, I learned the hard way, and I'm hoping that OMO can be a helpful resource to you as you move through building out your Overland adventures and the equipment and vehicle you'll use to make that happen!
Pete
